Spring Break week

It's been a crazy week...I don't have any kids in school yet, but Brent is a student adviser at UAB so his week has been a different schedule. We have been working since Sunday together to build our own canopy bed. We found this awesome site here and she gives you the whole caboodle of how to make things (the shopping list, cuts to make, etc.). I'm not going to post the pictures until we get it all completed, it needs one more coat of stain. I'm so in love with it! I never thought I wanted a canopy bed, a little too girly....but now I think it makes me think exotic. I have been trying to decide what I want to have hanging from it.

Next I want to rip my carpets up:)....I thought I wanted carpet in my bedroom (my floors every since i was little were wood), but now I realize I don't. My idea is to just rip up the carpet and paint the sub floors with white porch paint. hmm....I haven't decided yet.
I want to then paint the walls this really light gray, almost white.
After many years of going color crazy on walls, I realize I would rather go light color walls and accent with all the crazy colors ( I like to change thinks up a lot).
So anyway my crazy week has been filled with dreams of color, ideas, and all things design! I will post pictures when it is all completed:)

I'll leave you with something I'm mulling over that I read last night in my book, ME.
God gives us desires and passions unique to who we are as his creations.(physical,achievement,relational, and material).
God is a desire-creating, desire -satisfying God. He gave Birds the impulse to fly- they want to do it because God made them to do it. He gave Dolphins the joy of swimming, He does not make wrong desires for his creatures.

Lewis Smedes- "God is so great that he does not need to be our only joy. There is an earthly joy, a joy of the outer as well as the inner self, the joy of dancing as well as kneeling, the joy of playing as well as praying."
In James it tells us that EVERY good and perfect gift comes from above, and that the Father satisfies the desires of those who fear Him.

When we are enjoying a God given desire, it is His desire that we understand more deeply how good He is...
So today TASTE and SEE how good He really is:)
Add some JOY into your life today by doing what you Love, but remember to Thank him for it
